The hardest goodbye
This past month, we had to say goodbye to a truly remarkable young warrior.
In 2018, 13-year-old, Colin from Gauteng joined Kids Kicking Cancer’s heroes circle and has since been a beacon of hope and light to everyone who came to know him. He loved and cared about his family deeply and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Despite his illness taking a toll on his body, his mind remained unshakable, and he held his head high all throughout the journey. Every week, when we arrived to see him at the hospital his greeting, was loud and jovial, his drive to keep going through his illness would awaken the team to try to match him in every session. Despite experiencing weekly setbacks in his health, Colin would continually start every day inspired, giving his best to everything he did.
Colin’s light will continue to shine all through his family and our Kids Kicking Cancer family. In mom’s words: “Colin, was a pillar of strength in our family. He may have lost his life but he won the fight against cancer.” Power Peace Purpose!”
Rest in Peace sweet angel of strength, it was an honour and a privilege to know you.
