With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, 2020 is in full swing, and we have big plans for the future!
How Far We’ve Come & Where We’re Going
In our efforts to bring light and love to children suffering from cancer, Kids Kicking Cancer is currently serving 15 hospitals, with one in Zimbabwe and another in Zambia. We have our arms spread wide and our hearts wide open, with a 2020 vision of adding another 10 hospitals during the year to come. Ambitious, perhaps, but we believe in the power of dreams!
A Glimpse Into The Week Ahead
In our lead up to Valentine’s Day on the 14th of February, and International Cancer Day on the 15th of February, we have some exciting activities planned for the children in hospitals.
Sensei Ilze and Sensei Birgitt from our Western Cape Region have received an impressive donation of toys to share with our little warriors, filling their week with laughter and play. We can’t wait to see the smiles and feel the hugs when we hand these out!
_______
Meanwhile in Gauteng, Sensei Moses, Sensei Su, and their team had a superhero morning at one of our Johannesburg hospitals on Monday. They received a donation of the yummiest muffins from Yum Studio to celebrate International Cancer Day. The children were over the moon with excitement and couldn’t stop licking their lips!
_______
On Thursday, we have a garden session planned for Red Cross Hospital where we’ll practise our breathing techniques in the fresh, outdoor air surrounded by shade and trees. Afterwards, we’ll bond further over some cooldrinks, easing the effects of hot, summer weather.
V-Day Is Here!
Friday is Valentine’s Day, and we’ll be creating lovely home-made Valentine’s Day cards with the children in hospitals. They’ve already decided that they’ll make these cards for their parents and dedicated doctors and nurses to thank them for their support throughout this long journey.
We love to see the children’s joy and will continue to serve our warriors!
